- Аннотация: Abstract. The article attempts to provide a linguo-cognitive analysis of conceptual metaphors in the headlines of media texts devoted to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. The cognitive mechanisms of compression, focusing and defocusing determine the complexity of the semantics of metaphors and their transformation over time with abstract metaphors being replaced with concrete ones.
