Аннотация:Results of comparative analysis of school performance in boys and girls in twin pairs are presented in the article. Boys and girls in monozygotic and dizygotic twin pairs (both the same-sex and opposite-sex) were compared. This work is a part of the study of academic achievement in twins vs. single-born peers. The sample comprised 6758 subjects (4564 girls and 2194 boys) including 2282 twin pairs. Summary measures of academic achievement were analyzed for three stages of education: primary, secondary and high school. It is shown that all measures of academic achievement in twin boys were below those in twin girls for over the whole period of school education. This lag in boys manifests itself mostly in humanitarian disciplines that require developed verbal skills.
