Аннотация:Results of recent observations of chromospheric spicules on the Sun, obtained during the
last decades, are briefly reviewed. Data on spicules of different types and their possible
counterparts on the solar disk have been collected. Their properties, such as lifetimes,
length, thickness, velocities, connection with underlying magnetic field and supposed
role in transport of hot plasma and energy into the corona, are considered.Observations
with both the ground based telescopes such as Swedish Solar Telescope (SST) on La Palma, New Solar Telescope (NST) at Big Bear, Dunn Solar Telescope (DST) at National Solar Observatory (NSO) and space stations (Hinode, SOHO, TRACE, SDO)are used. Analysis of spectral lines asymmetry reveal weak matter upflows with the velocities of 30-100 km/s, directed from the chromosphere through the transition region (TR) to the corona. Activity in the corona is distinctly linked with activizing in the chromosphere. Evaluations of the energy, provided by so-called type II spicules, show that the spicules could play a great role in the heating of the corona.
