Аннотация:The composition of the surface compounds formed on silica after adsorption of tetra-N-metilammonium hydroxide (I) followed by treatment with water vapour has been studied mass spectrometrically. We have shown that (I) can initiate structure formation in silica under hydrothermal synthesis conditions, accompanied by the dissotiation of the adsorbed (I). It is found that fragments of the (I) molecule grafted to the silica surface can contribute to the formation of new siloxane bonds and to the ordering of the structure elements of the silicon-oxygen network.
