Аннотация:Gas-diffusion processes in borosilicate glasses of different types have been investigated by kinetic thermodesorption mass spectrometry in a temperature range of 100 - 1400 C. The primary gaseous component released is water. Water desorption takes place in three temperature ranges that correspond to three forms of water: surface dehydration and dehydroxylation at low temperatures, bulk diffusion at moderate temperatures and water from bursting bubbles at high temperatures. Carbon-containing gases present the second considerable group of gaseous components during degassing of the investigated glass samples. The diffusion coefficients of water and carbon dioxide in borosilicate glasses have been calculated at temperatures from 600 up to 1000 C. Water extinction coefficients for each type of glass have been determined.
