Аннотация:A method to calculate the paraxial region of focused finite-amplitude sound beams is developed. A system of nonlinear eikonal and transfer equations is derived describing the distortion of the phase front and waveform with allowance for nonlinear and diffraction effects. An exact solution to the system is found for an initially sinusoidal wave. Temporal waveforms are analyzed for different distances along the beam axis-before and behind the focus-and for different relations between the nonlinear, diffraction, and focal lengths. The effect of nonlinearity on field amplification at the focus is considered.
