Аннотация:In this work, we examine a spectral-polarization geometry of acousto-optic diffraction in a biaxial orthorhombic crystal of indium iodide. The focus is made on its variants implemented in the principal crystallographic planes of the crystal. Basic parameters of the acousto-optic filters using similar interaction regimes are estimated. A comparative analysis with the analogous devices based on uniaxial crystals of the mercurous halide family is carried out. The results obtained have allowed us to define optimal cuts of the indium iodide crystal for both hyperspectral imaging and high-resolution spectral filtering. The prospects of the indium iodide crystal for tunable infrared acousto-optic filters are proved.
