Аннотация:—Titanium complexes that are active in olefin polymerization are intercalated into intralayer galleries of a natural layered aluminosilicate, Na + montmorillonite, modified by dimethyldioctadecylammonium ions. The in situ polymerization of ethylene with intercalated complexes yields PE-modified montmorillonite nano- composites containing 4.0–44.0 wt % aluminosilicate. According to X-ray diffraction study, when the filler content is no greater than 24.0 wt %, the as-prepared nanocomposites represent exfoliated nanocomposite sys- tems. It is shown that the best combination of properties is achieved when the filler content in nanocomposites is in the range of 4.0–7.7 wt %. Compared to an unfilled PE prepared under the same conditions, the resulting nanocomposites are characterized by a higher elastic modulus, while their tensile strength and elongation at break remain at the same level
