Аннотация:A setup is designed for measuring the efficiency of two-photon photoreactions in photochromic media that are promising for developing optical-memory devices. Two laser sources are used in the setup: a femtosecond Al2O3 : Ti3+ laser tunable in a spectral range of 760-800 nm and a cw Ar+ laser. The setup allows measurements of absorption variations with the dynamic range of up to 10(-4) in a local region of 4-mu m size. The theoretical model estimates the cross section of two-photon absorption in photochromic compounds by using the dynamics of the induced-absorption variation. Characteristics of two-photon absorption of photochromic compounds in polymer films were measured in order to determine the feasibilities of the setup
