Аннотация:The integral spin antiparallel-parallel asymmetry in collisions of polarized electrons with polarized atoms has been calculated within an R-matrix approach for electron-impact excitation of the Na*(2p(5)3s(2) P-2) autoionizing state in the near-threshold region. Sharp changes of the asymmetry are predicted as a function of the incident energy due to the redistribution of the cross section between singlet and triplet channels and due to the different multiplicity of the core-excited negative-ion resonances.
