Аннотация:
The Shatsky Swell is located in the Black Sea between the East Black Sea Basin, which includes a thick (up to 12-15 km) sedimentary cover underlain by a very thin riftogenic continental crust, and the Greater Caucasus folded structure (including the Tuapse Trough). This uplift is composed of the pre-Callovian undivided basement and Callovian-Cenozoic sedimentary cover. The structure of the pre-Cenozoic sedimentary sequence has been poorly studied Detailed seismic studies revealed presumably Mesozoic reef buildups. The Pallas structure located south of the Anapa Salient is the most prominent example. This work demonstrates for the first time their distribution and tectonic position with consideration of all the available seismic records and materials of our field studies in the eastern Black Sea region.
